Ukraine reports GOGOL-M autonomous drone trial
Ukrainian developers announced a GOGOL-M trial in which a mothership released smaller strike drones that navigated toward assigned targets.
The Institute for the Study of War recorded a May 26, 2025 announcement of a GOGOL-M autonomous trial mission. The report also cautioned that both Russia and Ukraine were still struggling to integrate advanced artificial intelligence at battlefield scale.
The milestone belongs in the archive, but so does the limitation. A successful trial is not the same as reliable mass deployment.
