Grok gained a new image model called Aurora, with text-to-image generation and image editing on X.
xAI added Aurora image generation to Grok in selected countries. The autoregressive mixture-of-experts model supported image creation and edits from multimodal input.
The notable part was distribution. Image generation did not arrive as a separate creative app. It appeared inside the same feed where people were already reading and posting.
